About the teacher
Tasha Cook is a former professional dancer, now dedicated to teaching serious Pilates exercise in a fun atmosphere. A severe back injury ended her dance career, and led her to Pilates. As a result, she has personal, as well as professional experience using Pilates as a rehabilitation aide. Tasha uses the Pilates-based method she learned in the two training programs she participated in as a basis for all workouts. She also draws from her background in dance, weightlifting, yoga, body mechanics, and the seven years she has been teaching Pilates.

Some extra information
My career experience has been an eclectic combination of creative and practical endeavors. Just before switching to teaching Pilates full time, I was at Microsoft--as a Producer in the Interactive Television group. Before that, I was Production Manager of Dodge Tile--an art tile design firm. I also worked for a season as the Assistant Extras Casting Director on the television series "Northern Exposure." I studied Art, Art History, and Dance at the University of Washington. I've written and directed an independent short film, choreographed over 30 works, and toured internationally with the modern dance troupe The Pat Graney Dance Company.
